Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar has approved in principle the plans for construction and expansion of 4 major highways in the province.
Presiding over a meeting on Sunday, the chief minister said that the foundation stone of dual carriage 204-km highway from Chichawatni to Taunsa via Rajana, Peer Mahal, Chowk Azam, Layyah and Taunsa Highway project will be laid down during this year.
The 204 km long two-lane road will facilitate transportation.
Jhang Bypass, Shorkot Road project will be started soon.
50 150 km long Depalpur, Pakpattan, Vehari Road project will also be started soon.
Sardar Usman Buzdar said that Sahiwal and Chichawatni will be linked with the motorway. Buzdar directed to expedite matters related to these four projects of the highway sector. He said that the Communications and Works Department should complete the projects related matters within the stipulated time frame.
Usman Buzdar said that solidarity and brotherhood among the people of Pakistan was a precious gift which we all can give to our motherland. He said collective efforts were of utmost importance for progress and prosperity in the country.
